about the food: Lorna’s focus when in the kitchen is hydration and sensible food combining for optimal digestive health. As one of the original pioneers’ of raw food in Scotland, she now has almost 8 years of experience in providing large quantities of delicious top quality, organic raw food for those wishing to improve diet and wellbeing.  She is lucky enough to be bringing 2 chefs along this time whom she met and has worked with from one of London’s leading Raw Food Restaurants. They will  help to prepare an abundance of raw organic fruits, leaves & vegetables which will allow lots of contact time with Lorna-for demonstrations, recipe sharing and handy tips and tricks to take home.

the menu each day:

breakfast banquet including coconut water, cold pressed green juice, fruit salad & a special breakfast bowl.

mid morning ‘all-you-can-eat’ raw smoothies & fruit snacks.

buffet lunch inc. dips, sticks & giant organic leafy living salads.

afternoon snacks; fruits & teas

3 course evening meal; a lovely pre dinner elixir;  starter plates to share; a fully raw gourmet meal, followed by  excellent desserts.

(to offer peace of mind, there is not a chance at all you will feel hungry during this retreat; we spend a lot of time eating, drinking and making merry.)

about the yoga: There are 3 classes each day and you are welcome to join all or none of them.

class one- mysore style ashtanga. early morning

This class is taught traditional style. The teacher is there to assist you in self led practice wherever you may be in the ashtanga series.

class two- ashtanga inspired beginner’s class. late morning

This class is suitable for all levels and is designed to stimulate the lymphatic system and supporting the organs of elimination, so they can to do their work.

class three- yoga for digestion. late afternoon.

This is a 2 hour class each afternoon suitable for all levels.

This is a restorative and relaxing yoga class focussing on pranayama/breathing for digestion. This class is tailored to suit the needs and abilities of the group to provide the chance for deep relaxation and introspection (it’s more than likely this will not include movement/asana unless requested by the group.)

The yoga is completely optional and it’s up to you how much you want to participate. The  variety of classes offered throughout the weekend provide opportunity to go as far as you choose; the beginners morning class and the afternoon class are suitable for all levels.

about the house & location: Eastwood House is a gem of faded Victorian elegance sitting on the banks of the River Tay, about half a mile from Dunkeld, Perthshire. It is loaded with comfy beds, great views and open fires. It’s THE most comfortable and spacious place to take a weekend for yourself. There are 5 communal rooms, comfy sofas, candles everywhere and all the fresh air and peace that you need. Set within 9 acres of riverside gardens and woodland, Eastwood enjoys wonderful views over the river towards Birnam Wood and Hill. It is a short, scenic, riverside walk away from the centre of beautiful Dunkeld, an area well  known for its natural scenic beauty.

optional extras:

alternative therapies- Once again we are joined by Jo Polding, our resident therapist, who will be offering (excellent as always )reiki and kinesiology on request. We will also be joined by Sarah Urquhart-Taylor as our fantastic massage therapist over the weekend

nutritional knowledge- We have 2 excellent raw chefs coming from London to assist Lorna in the kitchen. They are both well versed, educated and practiced in the world of raw food.


the whole package: Yoga and raw food is the perfect marriage for digestive health. The food during this weekend is made from lots of fresh fruits & vegetables to provide hydration, oxygen and lots of nutrition.

The yoga gives opportunity for gently twisting and rinsing out the organs of elimination and the food gives a good supply of water to carry out the toxins that have been disturbed.

‘Raw Food Masterclass’

Join Lorna for a day long workshop exploring the fundamental elements of Raw Food. The day will be spent in the kitchen where Lorna will teach you all you need to know to follow a sustainable raw food diet at home. 

This luxurious day includes:

Welcome chat, tea and sweet treats, followed by a fantastic ‘intro to raw’ class. This class is suitable for all levels and here you will make your own lunch. We will then stop and eat together, enjoying a full raw hearty meal. Then it’s back to the kitchen for Twist & Sprout’s 24 hour guide to eating raw. Lorna will share as much of her experience and knowledge as possible throughout the day. All recipes shared are raw, vegan, wheat, dairy, gluten and soy free. These recipes are suitable for adults and children alike and the day is of course, hands on. There will be some ingredients and equipment available to purchase too.

If you have never experienced raw food then this is the perfect way to do so. Lorna’s way is simple and delicious and this day provides the perfect opportunity to nourish yourself and for some much needed creative time in the kitchen. It’s food for the soul too!
